Gloucester Catholic Annual Appeal
Letter from the Alumni President
There are not many opportunities today for us to give a gift that
is sure to have a lasting effect on the recipient. Games, clothing
and even cars have a tendency to diminish in value over time.
Spectacular vacations can lose their luster as memories fade and are
replaced by more recent activities.
One gift stands out with life-long consequences: The gift of
knowledge. If you make an impact on the educational life of a
person, that gift stays with the individual forever. The gift
becomes even more valuable with time and experience.
This has been a great year for GCHS as we continue to celebrate
75 years of excellence. Academically, a record number of students
have made the honor roll. As always, our sports teams have
represented us with distinction. The GCHS Alumni Association
continues to play a big part in participating in these successes.
Last year, the Alumni Association provided over 32 scholarships to
incoming freshmen, tuition aid to families experiencing hardships
and numerous contributions to improve the GCHS facilities.
These successes are due in large part to the past generosity of
the GCHS alumni, friends and parents who have enabled many of the
students to become beneficiaries of the dream set by our founders 75
years ago. Many students have received a quality education steeped
in faith and morals because of the scholarships funded by the Annual
Giving Campaign. But, we can do more.
The GCHS Alumni Association is dedicated to preserving the
school's rich legacy. However, we need your help. The school must
update facilities, modernize science labs, maintain technology that
is state-of-the-art and attract incoming freshmen that want to be
part of our rich tradition.
Each year our Annual Giving Campaign begins with this letter sent
out to more than 6,000 alumni, friends and parents. We ask each of
you to make a special donation to help us reach the goal of $75,000.
If every member on our mailing list contributed, it would make a
substantial impact. Ninety five cents of every dollar donated goes
directly to the student population and improvements to the
facilities of GCHS.
Gloucester Catholic is a treasure to be preserved, enriched and
passed along to future generations. We ask that you join us as
stewards who help keep the legacy of GCHS alive. Your gift will make
this happen.
Sincerely,
Tom Iacovone
President
