GCHS Begins New Ice Hockey Program
Gloucester Catholic has launched an ice hockey program. After years
of anticipation, this new, fast-paced sport features ten skaters and
one goalie, enough for two full lines of offensivemen and four
defensivemen.
Led by two experienced coaches, Chris Voit and Guy Gaudreau, the
team includes freshmen Kevin Gatto, Corey Lundstrum, Ryan Lynch,
Mike Santoro, Zach Sorg, David Voit and goalie Mike Ross. Providing
leadership for the team are seniors Mike Kemp, Mike Renaud and Matt
Voit.
Both coaches feel it will be an interesting season. “We should have
a solid team with a good amount of talented freshmen and a few
experienced seniors to point the younger players in the right
direction,” says head coach Chris Voit.
The Rams will hold practices and games at their home rink,
Holleydell Ice
Arena in Washington Township. Director of Hockey Operations and
rink manager Guy Gaudreau will be assisting Coach Voit on the ice
throughout the season. Practices will be on Thursdays after school
and games will be held on Sunday evenings. All Ram fans are asked to
come out on Sunday nights and show their support for our newest
team!
