GCHS - ND Club 1st Annual Bookstore Basketball Tournament

NOTRE DAME BOOKSTORE BASKETBALL BREAD OF LIFE CAMPAIGN

Thanks for your support! This first annual tournament helped the SJ Notre Dame Club raise over $1500 in food, money and gift certificates for the St. Francis House of St. Anthony's of Padua Parish in Camden.

The Notre Dame Alumni Club of South Jersey invited 3 high schools (Gloucester Catholic, St Augustine & Bishop Eustace) to participate this year in a 4 on 4 half court basketball tournament to benefit St Anthony of Padua’s Francis House (Camden, NJ). The contest is named after the famous University of Notre Dame’s Bookstore Basketball Tournament and combines the attributes of the basketball contest with a food drive. Games were played the week of April 19th at each respective school and the winner at each school played for the championship on Sunday April 25th at Gloucester Catholic. The week prior to the tournament the schools sponsored a food drive. Also, the price of admission to the tournament for teams and spectators was can goods (In lieu of can goods the charge of admission was a $5 donation).

On Sunday, in a round robin tournament, St Augustine Prep took the first annual Bread of Life Tournament Trophy beating Gloucester Catholic in the final.

There are still T-Shirts are available - $12 each (see Mr. Reed)
