EVALUATION:
Instruction is guided by the General Instructional Objectives, and measurement of student learning is guided by Specific Learning Objectives, both included in the course proficiency. At the end of the semester, a common exam based on this proficiency is given to all students of this subject. The grade for this exam equals one-fifth of the semester grade.
Through the course of each quarter, students are evaluated on the basis of tests, quizzes, writing assignments, homework, projects, and other activities. The third quarter grade includes evaluation of a major research paper which is weighted as two major test grades. With a 70% as a passing grade, it is expected that a minimum of 80% would pass tests and 85% would pass quizzes.
