Proficiency Requirements
Students will be able to
- Locate and be able to operate safely equipment in the lab
- Convert units with the Metric system, both Metric to English
and English to Metric
- Define boldfaced terms in text plus additional terms given
in class
- Determine the number of significant figures in a measurement
- Perform mathematical operations using significant figures
- Perform mathematical operations (Grams, moles etc.)
- Show the electron configuration of elements using:
- Orbital Notation
- Electron Dot Notation
- Electron Configuration Notation
- Draw a generalized Periodic Table, noting trends
- Show the relationship between the Periodic Table and
electron configuration
