Proficiency Requirements

Students will be able to

  1. Locate and be able to operate safely equipment in the lab
  2. Convert units with the Metric system, both Metric to English and English to Metric
  3. Define boldfaced terms in text plus additional terms given in class
  4. Determine the number of significant figures in a measurement
  5. Perform mathematical operations using significant figures
  6. Perform mathematical operations (Grams, moles etc.)
  7. Show the electron configuration of elements using:
    1. Orbital Notation
    2. Electron Dot Notation
    3. Electron Configuration Notation
  8. Draw a generalized Periodic Table, noting trends
  9. Show the relationship between the Periodic Table and electron configuration

Grading:

  1. Quizzes
  2. Homework and Class work
  3. Tests
