American Government / Current Events

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will focus on the core concepts of American government while analyzing the role America plays in the modern world. Students will evaluate and examine the Constitution as the framework of US law, the branches of government and the power each of those branches hold, the role of the individual citizen and the rights assigned to these citizens. Current events will be emphasized in order to familiarize students with current issues facing our government. Relevant and topical issues will be discussed throughout the year.
