US History 1 Honors - Mr. George Bakey
Goals and Objective:
This course will further enhance the student’s knowledge of American History
from the start of Columbus’ voyage to America until the end of the United States
Civil War. (1492-1865) Student’s will be challenged to read, understand,
research, evaluate, and reflect on the material. Finally students will also be
asked to research current topics and events in order to keep up frequently with
the changing world around them.

Discipline and Behavior
 | All students are expected to act in a respectful manner at
all times and to obey all rules that coincide with the
Gloucester Catholic handbook. Failure to respect or obey will
result in disciplinary action. |

Grading Policy
 | Tests = 50%
Quizzes =40%
Homework =10%
** US 1 Honors student’s are required to complete a book review
during the first semester which will count as two tests grades
for the second quarter. Information concerning this project will
be given out to students in the next two weeks. Please contact
me with any questions. **
** Also US 1 Honor students are also required to complete a term
paper, which will be assigned and due in the second semester.
The topics much range from 1492-1865. This also will count as
two tests grade for the fourth quarter.** |
