Textbook
Sociology - The Study of Human Relationships Objectives
This course uses sociological theories to better know and
understand ourselves through culture and society. Individual
investigation and group discussion will be used in the study of
cultural anthropology, social change, rural and urban problems,
poverty, crime and punishment as well as other related topics.

Tests
Given at the end of every chapter or multiple sections. Graded
out of 100 points and can include multiple choice, matching,
fill-ins and essays. Tests are based on notes, in-class
assignments, material covered in text and supplemental material.
Usually given 2-3 days notice and a comprehensive written or
oral review the day before the test.
Quizzes
Based on notes. Can be given without notice. Also based on
current events and maps relevant to topics covered.
Homework / Classwork
Must be handed-in and completed for full credit. Class participation is included here.
Extra Credit
Given periodically throughout marking period. May entail a myriad of assignments or anything approved by me. It will not be given at the end of the marking period.
Make-up Work
If you are absent you must see me to see what you missed. It’s your responsibility If you neglect to see me or schedule a make-up for tests and quizzes within 3 days then it equals a ZERO!!!!
