COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an introductory study of the social science of psychology. Topics include: the process of learning, states of consciousness, intelligence and creativity, personality, affective and emotional aspects of behavior, abnormal behavior, language and thought, and mental health. Students will be introduced to the methods used in psychological research as well as the theories of Freud, Skinner, Maslow, Rogers, Kohlberg, Piaget, Erikson, Jung, Adler, Homey, Kubler-Ross, Sullivan and others.
