Kingdom Project
For the third consecutive year, a generous benefactor has offered Gloucester Catholic funding for the “Kingdom Project”. This unique project is an offshoot of a program that began years ago when a minister offered one hundred of his parishioners $1,000 to better God’s kingdom. The pastor wrote a book about the experience and influenced several people to repeat the process on a local level.
A generous family has funded this project at Gloucester Catholic. During the past three years, ten students were given one hundred dollars and asked to make a difference in their world. With the heartwarming results so readily visible, the family has donated another $10,000 to continue the good work for years to come. Principal John Colman is investing the money and pledges the school’s support.
Last year, members of the Class of 2007 competed for the opportunity to spread God’s kingdom. Religion teacher
Joe McKenna coordinated the
effort and a committee selected ten proposals. Last year’s
Gloucester Catholic Kingdom Project winning entries are once again
heartwarming efforts.
